2018 - Resolutions, I'm a Vlogger?, and whole load of Disney!?
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had an fun and enjoyable festive period, and are ready to kick 2018 off with a BANG! As they say, start as we mean to go on!
A REFLECTION ON 2017
If you have been following my blog since I officially launched it this time last year, you may remember that I said 2017 would be 'a year of change, a year of positive, a year of looking forward and never back'. Yeah, when will I ever learn to listen to myself... (!!!) Most of the changes I wanted to happen, didn't. And, rather than looking at the positives, I was constantly looking back at wrong decisions, mistakes and reflecting on what I could or should have done differently. Now that is not to say I completely 'failed' my New Years Resolutions last year (although who ever sticks to them all anyway...), I just still have work to do on them - and there is only one person who can do that. ME.
MY 2018 GOALS AND WHY 2018 WILL BE GREAT
Not only do i want to finish off what 2017 left, I also have a couple of new goals and resolutions that I have set myself for 2018 (and hopefully by this time next year I would have ticked off each and every one - or at least that is the dream!);
1) Do something I want to do - The last few months of 2017 were interesting from a job point of view and i've now decided enough is enough - its time to get out of the retail industry and company i've been stuck in for the past 3 years, and do something I actually want to do long-term. The problem is, I don't really know what I want to do! (i'm thinking something in travel or social media marketing at the moment but, honestly, who knows...). Hopefully 2018 will be the year I discover what I am destine to do and i'll escape the chaos of retail!
2) Grow my blog and socials, and help others do the same - As you'll read below, I am totally planning to continue with this blog and have a lot of other exciting projects in the works. I hope that my continued effort will help me grow this tiny little blog, alongside my YouTube and social platforms. The support during my first year of running this blog was amazing (so thank you to every single one of you who read, commented, liked and shared last year!), but I know I can do better and i'd love to get involved more in the blogging and Disney communities too. I am also very keen this year to help fellow bloggers, vloggers and communities grow and would love to be able to support some other channels and blogs throughout the year in various ways!
2018 is shaping up to be a good year already - and we're only 2 days into it! "Why?", I hear you ask. Well, the simple answer... DISNEY! 2018 is going to be a Disney-filled year - as in just over 50 days i'll be heading out to Florida as #NathanGoesSolo, and we'll be returning to the most magical place on earth in December for almost a month of Disney fun! So if my calculations are correct, i'll be spending over 10% of 2018 in the US of A! Yay!
THE FUTURE OF MY ONLINE-SELF
2018 also holds huge changes to my online presence and this whole blogging/vlogging thing.... Hold up. Did I just say vlogging?!? HELL YES I DID! A few months ago, you may recall I said I had "ambitious plans for my YouTube channel", well I am now ready to share just a teaser into what is coming in the very near future! Whilst I am still working on the full details, I am pleased to announce that I am planning to vlog the entirety of my #NathanGoesSolo Walt Disney World trip and, if all goes to plan, my Christmas trip too! Now at this very moment in time, that is all I have to share regarding the vlogs, but check back in a couple of weeks for more details about what you can expect, when, where and how! (and in the meantime, make sure you are subscribed to my YouTube channel *shameless plug*)
In other online news; I will definitely be continuing fortnightly blog posts right here on my website, with a primary Disney focus in the run up to my trip (what would you like to know or see? Send me a message or email!). With the upcoming vlog series and other videos I have planned (alongside a lot of time and effort going into my Disney World fan site going forward), something does unfortunately have to give. It is therefore with regret that I have decided to put my 'A Moment A Day' series on an indefinite hiatus (I don't want to say its finished, as I'd love to come back to the series in the future.). December 2017's video will be the last monthly 'A Moment A Day' video shared for now, but a '2017 - Moments of the Year' video will be coming out at some point in January. Finally, social media will become more and more apart of what I do over the coming months, so expect a lot of Instagram's, Tweets and more throughout 2018.
