BLOG: New Year 2017
Firstly, lets start with the obligatory HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2017 is going to be a hell of a lot better than 2016 was, both personally and as a world, ya know, I can just feel it.
This year is going to be a year of change, a year of positive, a year of looking forward and never back ("shut up, thats what everyone always says", I hear you cry...)
I have a number of personal goals and ambitions for the year, along with a couple of the more traditional New Years Resolutions; Eat healthier, stress less and just take some time to myself. The latter two of which became major problems toward the end of 2016 - work matters, you don't need to know...
2016 ended with me being particularly stressed, worrying about everything when I was supposed to be resting, and just not having the 'me-time' I deserved. Work kinda just took over my life if i'm honest. Now i'm not saying this will all miraculously change now one number has changed in the year, but I am going to work towards reducing my stress and taking a bit more time to myself in 2017.
So how, I hear you ask? Well that is something I don't actually know yet - I think its one of those 'suck it and see' things - but I know change won't be imminent. Change is gradual not instant.
A few ideas I have had to support me with the 'less stress, more me' resolution include;
- Using a diary: writing down everything that needs to be done and when, so I am not having to plan in my head the following day, and therefore constantly stressing about work.
- Taking one evening a week to sit down and watch a film, spend time with the family or play a game. This is something I didn't really do much of in 2016 - I bought tons of DVD's but hardly watched any.
This year will also see the launch of two online changes. Firstly, i'll be launching a fortnightly lifestyle blog on this website. Secondly, I will be filming 3 seconds of every day this year and upload a highlight video from each month.
